Today is our whale watching tour. We got up early and showered and headed down to the resort waterfront restaurant - Bella California - for breakfast. The view is lovely as always and we enjoyed a nice breakfast. We have yet to eat bad food.
We walked into town which we are getting very good at! The office for the whale watching tour was easy to find and we checked in. I was feeling a little nauseous and worried about the boat ride. But I think I took my pills too early, something I've been unable to do the last while.
We boarded our Zodiac raft and began our tour. The day was beautiful and warm. We went past Lovers Beach and the famous arch that is emblematic of Cabo San Lucas and then headed out to find whales. We stopped and waited for a while and didn't see anything right away. The marine biologist leading our tour had an underwater microphone which she put in the water. We could hear the whales talking to each other and making their sounds. So cool. We traveled a bit more and found a mom and baby. The baby kept breeching and it was amazing to see. We saw quite a few more whales, including one so close that it was incredible. It was a truly wonderful experience.
After the tour, we headed back to our resort. We stopped at a little hole in the wall restaurant and had some tacos. They had two for one cocktails and I'm pretty sure we were the only people in the restaurant that didn't take advantage of that! The tacos were delicious.
After we got back to our resort, it was time for our Pickleball reservation. It was really hot on the courts. We found a couple guys who were just learning to play and taught them the rules. We have both played spectacularly awful here and they almost beat us! Tried to keep a good attitude about it all and just have fun.
After Pickleball, we headed down and sat in the hot tub. It felt too cool for us to want to swim but we sat by the water and enjoyed this incredible view while we dried off. Matt was convinced he didn't need more food but I was feeling hungry. We wanted to go across the street to Tomatillos but found out that was reservation only. We ended up at the Sports Bar eating salad and fish and chips again.
Matt is trying to spend money without being so conscious of every cent but I can tell it is hard on him and so I have to push things forward if that is what I want. He is a good sport about things.
Another night of enjoying each other and pinching myself to believe that what I am experiencing with this man is true. Such kindness. Such gentleness. Such passion. Such love. We both feel so unlucky and lucky at the same time.
