We had a Pickleball reservation this morning at 8 am. Got up and had coffee and enjoyed the morning air and then headed down to play. We found a couple who agreed to play with us. They were a little older than us from Winnipeg, Canada. Had great fun playing with them and also played a couple of guys. Ended up playing for a couple hours. So much fun. Had breakfast at Bella California again. I love the muesli and ate more of it than I did before. Each day, I am eating more and less on my low carb. I've been eating everything and anything I want. It will be hard to get back on my program. But it is nice to relax once in a while too. After we ate, we decided to try and walk to Pedregal, the very expensive area of Cabo. We had been told that you could see beautiful views from the hill. We tried but couldn't get very far. Everything is gated and we were not allowed to enter. We found a museum and thought we would check it out. But there was very little English and it mostly ended up ...

Today is our whale watching tour. We got up early and showered and headed down to the resort waterfront restaurant - Bella California - for breakfast. The view is lovely as always and we enjoyed a nice breakfast. We have yet to eat bad food.  We walked into town which we are getting very good at! The office for the whale watching tour was easy to find and we checked in. I was feeling a little nauseous and worried about the boat ride. But I think I took my pills too early, something I've been unable to do the last while.  We boarded our Zodiac raft and began our tour. The day was beautiful and warm. We went past Lovers Beach and the famous arch that is emblematic of Cabo San Lucas and then headed out to find whales. We stopped and waited for a while and didn't see anything right away. The marine biologist leading our tour had an underwater microphone which she put in the water. We could hear the whales talking to each other and making their sounds. So cool. We traveled a ...

We got up and Matt wanted to go walk around the property early. So we did! It was quiet and not many people up at this time.  We decided to eat breakfast early, kind of unusual for us. I had muesli which was delicious. Matt had another Mexican breakfast and half my muesli since I couldn't eat it all.  After breakfast, we decided to walk along the beach. We walked for over a mile in the sand, enjoying the beautiful day and the lovely water.  After our beach walk, we ate chips and guacamole at the hotel. The chips and guac in Mexico are probably my favorite foods here. They never disappoint.  After lunch we played a little Pickleball, trying to brush up a bit for the tournament. The tournament ended up being a lot of fun but we played pretty horrible. Out of eight teams, we came in sixth, so we weren't the worst. We should have done a lot better but we still had fun.  After the tournament, we decided to walk back to the place we had eaten breakfast in town. ...

We had coffee in our room today after buying what we needed at Walmart. Much better than coffee we've had in any restaurant. And the real cream reminded me of the cream in EskDale. Thick like pudding. Pretty darn good.  We had a reservation to play Pickleball this morning. Headed down to play and ended up playing with two women who were very good - Janice and Kathy. I felt like I was playing absolutely awful but we still had fun.  After Pickleball we headed into town for a hike to Lovers Beach. We stopped at a little taco place by the Marina and had tacos and chips with guacamole. The guacamole here is so wonderful. And they give you so much! An order of chips and guacamole is at least two full avocados with the best pico de gallo in the world. Stomachs full, we started our trek to Grand Selmar Resort. Arriving there, we had to request entrance to the beach. They asked us to wait a few minutes and then escorted us through a locked gate and to the beach. What a beautiful place....

Today, we are scheduled for a hike in the Sierra de la Laguna. This is a hike Avi recommended. Expensive at $160 per person but we went for it. The hike didn't start until 2 pm so we had some time. I went and bought a coffee at Starbucks. We still hadn't figured out our error on the conversion rate and I thought I paid $25 for the worst cup of coffee ever. I finally googled the number of pesos I spent on the coffee and realized our error. The real price was $6.70. Still high but what you would expect.  After we were up and showered, we headed towards town and found a lovely place to eat breakfast right on the water. With the gentle tropical breeze blowing and the beautiful ocean, it felt a bit like a dreamland. Matt got on his knees to take a picture of me. A table nearby thought we were so cute (again) that she took a picture of Matt on his knees. I laughed. Told him I could really throw the kids off if I sent them that picture. Not sure what I would do if Matt asked me to m...

Today is a travel day. Yesterday was my birthday and we had a wonderful day with my kids celebrating at a beautiful and delicious restaurant in Emeryville. All the kids made it including Erika's kids. It was so special for me. I had a few days of emotional upheaval where I couldn't quit crying. Missing David. Feeling like an alien in my own life. Feeling so emotionally distant from Matt and wondering if I really could ever be fair to such a good and loving man. Things started to settle a bit on my birthday after two nights where my churning brain barely let me sleep. I did a little better the night before leaving but not much.  We got up at 3:30 am to shower and get ready to leave the house before 4:30. I was glad to get up since I had been lying awake for quite a while already. Still churning but a little better. We got safely parked in Matt's Mini Cooper and easily got to the airport with time to spare. The plane was only about half full. It was a comfortable and easy tr...
